How does it work
Once the paper work is done, we conduct a safety briefing, then shooters are assigned a licensed mentor to supervise their shooting.
First you will shoot 25 rounds of ammunition at a target on the 50 metres range from a laying position prone or from a bench in a seated position if you can not lay down.
Second you shoot 25 rounds from an Air Rifle from a supported position standing on the 10 metre range.
To organise your first shoot following your come and try, please contact us. You MUST contact us prior to showing up, as we need time to organise your mentor and equipment.
What do you wear to have a shoot:- Long sleeved shirt or jacket and trousers or shorts. Enclosed shoes (runners etc) and no camouflage patterns please.
You must have Photo ID.
Age limit? Yes, you must be over 11 years old and if you are under 18 years old you must have a parent or guardian with you.
We would suggest that you read the information in the Safety and General Shooting information on our web page.
We do not allow the General Public to come to the range and shoot unless they have attended a “Come and Try” day first. After attending a Come and Try, we do allow shooters to return and shoot with our club as visitors paying normal club rates of $20:00 plus ammunition cost (minimum $9:00 per 50 rounds). After three visits, visitors are expected to become members of the club. New shooters on return visits will be asked to attend the Range by prior arrangement on Saturdays until shooters have obtained their firearms license. Licensed shooters can attend the range to shoot at the normal club start time of 8:30 am.
